R. Rusty Bixby

Rusty began his fascination with photography while serving in the Air Force with the purchase of his first Petri SLR 35mm camera in 1967. Stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War he began shooting a torrent of slides from the Gulf of Siam to Bangkok. His collection includes Buddhist temples, monks in their bright orange garb in religious practice and local Thai's photographed in their street and rural environments.

Following five years of Air Force service Rusty completed his MBA and embarked on a professional accounting career. He maintained a casual interest in photography throughout his working life, moving to a film Canon Rebel EOS. Now retired, he has turned his interest to digital photography using Canon DSLR's and a wide variety of lenses. Primarily a landscape photographer since 2002, he is exploring photojournalism and other imagery produced in Photoshop.

Much of his current work has been gathered from various locations in Franklin County Massachusetts and Southern Vermont. He actively participates in photographic groups in Western Massachusetts and educational opportunities with other photographers.
